Biosecurity and Health advice for Attendees and Purchasers of Livestock

Always wash your hands before eating or drinking

Never place food or drink near cages etc.

Do not touch any Birds or cages that contain or have previously contained birds. If you do then wash your hands immediately.

Make sure you have filled in an EMBBA traceability form for each individual purchase.

Always quarantine birds for a minimum period of 1 week before placing them within your collection.

Any signs of illness inform a veterinary surgeon.

If cages and aviaries are dry and dusty then dampen down with a suitable disinfectant before catching or disturbing birds.

If you purchased birds with disposable carrying boxes make sure the box is disposed of immediately.

The forms are to be handed in by the seller to the EMBBA stand at the main entrance.

The forms are kept for 6 months and are only looked at if there is a major outbreak of Avian Flu.

If after 6 months there is no outbreak then the forms will be incinerated

Wristbands must be worn at all times.
Any damaged or repaired bands must be taken to main entrance where a replacement will be given.
Anyone trying to gain access with a repaired wristband will be refused entry.
